Scout Troops
Scout troops are invited to visit the Austin Humane Society for a free 30-minute tour or a guided 90-minute badge workshop for a one-time donation. Included is a behind-the-scenes shelter tour, a service craft, and an adoptable meet & greet!
We open booking for education programs at select times throughout the year. Once booking opens, requests are accepted on a rolling basis and scheduled until all available program spots are filled.

Cost: $150 donation
Time: 90 Minutes
Location: AHS Auditorium
Scheduling: Wednesday or Thursday 11-6:30
Saturdays starting at 11, 1 or 3
*Please note we do not host workshops on other days of the week.
Each 90-minute workshop includes:
- Behind-the-scenes tour of the Austin Humane Society (15+ minutes)
- A service activity or craft (30 minutes)
- Adoptable animal meet & greet (30 minutes)
Our staff lead slow, gentle introductions which safely socializes rescue dogs and cats to children. Kids will meet 1-2 animals per visit. Subject to shelter availability.
Event Details:
- For up to 15 scouts and 15 parents
- We offer lesson plans to complete Daisy Animal Observer & Brownie Pet badges.
We do not provide sew on patches at this time.

- September: November + December programs
- November: January + February programs
- January: March + April + May programs
We can take on a limited number of special projects per year.
