Every year, from spring through late summer, AHS is inundated with teeny, tiny kittens! It’s Kitten Season, and over the next few months we will welcome hundreds of newborn kittens into our shelter. These babies require constant care and support, and they are the most fragile animals we serve. Our shelter staff members and dedicated foster caregivers are working around the clock to make sure these kittens grow big and strong.

To help raise funds for all of those babies, we’ll be hosting our 10th Annual Kitten Shower, presented by Heritage Ranch by H-E-B  and the Nicholas J. Juried Family Foundation, on Saturday, April 27th from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the AHS shelter (124 W. Anderson Lane). This kitten-themed, family-friendly community event features adoptable kittens and cats, children’s activities, a Bake-Off competition, and paw-some local vendors.

Kitten Shower is free to attend, or you can upgrade your experience with a V.I.P. (Very Important Purrson) ticket. For $30, you’ll receive a commemorative gift, a Bake-Off tasting ticket, a drink ticket, plus entry to win 2 passes to Whiskers & Wine on May 16th. Alternatively, you can purchase a stand-alone Bake-Off tasting ticket for just $10. All proceeds will benefit animals in need!

Please note, pre-sale ticket purchases are closed but you can still buy VIP and Bake-Off tickets at the event.

• 22 vendors came out to Kitten Shower in 2023, providing goods, services, and fun times to the community!
• Last year, more than 500 people came out to Kitten Shower and we expect many more to join us in 2024!
• We raised over $20,000 to help our furry friends and adopted out every kitten that was featured at the event.
• Cakes ROCK!!! took home the gold in our 2nd Annual Kitten Shower Bake-Off from a field of eight of Austin’s most talented bakers!
