Have an item you’d like to donate to the animals of AHS? You can drop off your donation in the lobby of our shelter at 124 W. Anderson Lane, Austin, TX 78752 during our open hours. If you’d like to purchase an item and have it shipped directly to us, please click below to check out our Amazon Wish List.

If you have an item that is not listed below, please email development@austinhumanesociety.org to see if we can accept it.

  • Any brand dry cat and dog food
  • Opened dry dog or cat food (if outside original container must be clearly labeled)
  • Gift cards to pet stores, Target, Amazon, home improvement stores etc
  • Paper towels
  • Newspaper
  • Puppy pads
  • Kitten or puppy replacement formula
  • Peanut butter (creamy, sealed, non-organic, and unexpired)
  • Towels (new or gently-used, all sizes)
  • Sheets (flat ONLY)
  • Blankets (without stuffing)
  • Cans of Easy Cheese
  • Wet dog or cat food of any type
  • Litter scoops
  • Cat litter (any brand)
  • Small two-sided cat bowls
  • Cat toys (any type)
  • Small cat beds
  • Washcloths and hand towels
  • Royal Canin Baby Cat Dry Food *
  • Gently used dog crates or carriers (plastic or wire)
  • Meat-flavored baby food (no onion)
  • Stainless steel bowls (non-tip, any size)
  • Gently used collars and leashes
  • Greenies “Pill Pockets”
  • Muzzles
  • Gently used cat trees or scratching towers (clean and not damaged)
  • Hard rubber activity dog toys (ex. Kong Wobbler, Nylabone)
  • Unopened cat and dog treats
  • Medical supplies (digital thermometers, rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, unopened distilled water)
  • Cleaning supplies (brooms, dust pans, rubber gloves, sponges, trash bags, bleach, Dawn Dish soap)
  • Ziploc bags – sandwich size
  • Q Tips and cotton balls
  • Unexpired dog or cat medications

  • Expired medications
  • Pillows and cushions
  • Comforters and blankets with stuffing
  • Large dog beds with stuffing

  • Plastic litter pans
  • Shock, prong, flea, or choke collars
  • Grooming supplies
  • Used computer equipment
  • Homemade dog and cat treats
  • Over-the-counter flea treatments
  • Rawhide chews
  • Retractable leashes
  • Breakable food dishes (glass, porcelain etc)
  • Worn, tattered or ripped bedding
