Help animals in need

Want to help animals in need find their happily-ever-after?  Sponsor a Pet and go above and beyond to help make that happen! Through this program, you can sponsor an animal’s full care at our shelter for $250. Your support helps the animal you choose to sponsor and their shelter friends on their journey at AHS!

Gary Tomato’s Success Story

Tomato is a great example of how the Sponsor a Pet program can change an animal’s life. When this sweet boy arrived at AHS, he had a growth on his front leg. X-rays determined that Tomato was suffering from a bone infection and would require additional care.

Gary Tomato’s Success Story

Thanks to our donors, we were able provide Tomato with the high-quality medical care he desperately needed, and it was amazing to see his transformation!

Gary Tomato’s Success Story

Today, Tomato (whose new name is Gary Tomato) is happy, healthy, and thriving with his forever family. He spends his days watching nature documentaries and cuddling with his brother (and doggy soulmate), Homer.

Porter’s Happy Tail

Porter was just four-months-old when first came to AHS all the way back in August of 2017. When he arrived at our shelter he was completely covered in ringworm – a contagious but treatable fungal infection. Our clinic team treated Porter, and his condition began to improve.

Porter’s Happy Tail

Once he was clear of ringworm, Porter was adopted, but he was returned when it was determined that he was a chronic carrier of the disease. That means that even when he’s not displaying the typical signs of ringworm (hair loss and flaky skin) he can still infect other animals and humans. Our staff worked with him to get his issue under control, and Porter received regular Lyme dips to help with his condition.

Porter’s Happy Tail

Thanks to our supporters, we were able to give Porter all the time he needed to find his perfect match. Four years after he first arrived at our shelter – it happened. His foster family made the decision to adopt him. Now he is living the good life in his forever home!
