Event Hosting FAQs

What does it cost to host an event?

Our event fees range from $1000-2500 depending on event duration, number of animals requested and other factors. We occasionally offer percent of proceed based events, as well as no-cost events for non-profit partners. Reach out to our team to discuss your idea and budget to see if it might be a fit!

Why do you charge for events?

The Austin Humane Society is an independent non-profit animal shelter that relies on donations and community support to serve over 13,000 animals each year. Event feels help offset the cost of supplies, staff time, and help us fund our day-to-day operations.

How far in advance should I book my event with AHS?

We ask you to reach out to our events team at least 4 weeks in advance to schedule an off-site event. All dates and times must be mutually agreed upon by all parties ahead of time.

What animals will AHS bring to an event?

Adult dogs, puppies and kittens tend to do best at off-site events. We can only bring cats or kittens to fully enclosed indoor locations. Age, type and number of animals attending will depend on a number of factors including weather, event type, duration of event, availability of volunteers, and presence of other animals.
